http://tin.er.usgs.gov/meteor/metbull.php?code=47354
Dhofar 1439, Oman, Achondrite (eucrite melt-matrix breccia, Eucrite-mmict). Found 2003

The rounded stone of 5132 g weight was found in the desert. The stone has patched dark-green, dark-grey and dark-brown surface because fusion crust is not preserved. The rock clasts and melt veins, running through it are visible on the surface of meteorite. Mineralogy and classification (Lorenz C. and Kononkova N., Vernad): the meteorite is a monomict melt-matrix breccia, consisting of coarse-grained rock clasts up to several centimeters of size, invaded into the dark-colored melt matrix. The rock clasts are fragments of pyroxene-plagioclase rock. The rock texture is a coarse-grained gabbroic. The pyroxene (En34.7Wo4.0; Fe/Mn=34) consists of augite lamellae (En28.6Wo41.1). The composition of feldspar is An89.3Ab10.3. The minor minerals are ilmenite and silica, troilite is rare. The dark-brown, dark-green or black melt matrix has partly fluidal structure. The numerous empty gas pores, up to centimeter of size, occur in the melt. The melt is devitrified, and comprises of cryptocrystalline or essentially fine-grained intergrowth of pyroxene and feldspar crystals.

Sample distribution: 29 g and three thin sections – Vernad., the main mass with anonymous finder.
