NWA 7032

 

The martian meteorite NWA 7032 was classified as a new shergottite (no pairing known) by Pf Tony Irving from the Dept of Earth and Space Sciences of the University of Washington.

History: A small stone was found in October 2011 in southern Morocco and purchased from a Moroccan dealer in Zagora in November 2011 by Luc Labenne.

 

Physical characteristics: A single very fresh stone (85 g) coated by black fusion crust. The specimen resembles a terrestrial microgabbro.
