The Gibeon meteorites are classified as an iron meteorite. The crystalline pattern, is naturally occurring in outer space upon the cooling of iron and nickel in an environment with little to no gravity and a slow cooling rate (estimated 1 degree Celsius in a million years).
Treatment with nitric acid causes typical patterns of Widmanstätten to appear on the surface)
The Gibeon meteorites were discovered in Namibia in the early 1800's. Larges en small meteorites specimens were scattered over 200 square miles.
