Nakhlite – Complete Martian Meteorite Specimen (25.06 g)
Nakhlite – 25.06 g (complete specimen) / price is available upon request
Unique Martian meteorite specimen preserving an extensive natural fusion crust, with a small sampling window exposing its internal structure. Confirmed as a Nakhlite by XRF analysis. Single known stone, discovered over ten years ago, with no additional material recovered since.
This 25.06 g Nakhlite represents a highly significant and singular Martian meteorite specimen. The stone is complete, preserving its natural fusion crust over nearly its entire surface. A small, clearly visible sampling window exposes the interior, providing direct access to its internal structure.
The sampling was intentionally limited and carried out exclusively for analytical verification using X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF), confirming its Nakhlite composition. This minimal extraction does not compromise the integrity or display quality of the specimen. The extracted material will remain available to the future owner.
Notably, only one stone corresponding to this find was discovered more than ten years ago, and no additional material has been recovered since. To date, this specimen remains unique, with no known paired stones from the discovery area.
The quantity of material extracted is insufficient for immediate official classification, as Meteoritical Bulletin standards require approximately 20% of the total mass (around 5 g). However, this specimen offers the future owner the opportunity to pursue an official classification and declaration, should additional material be allocated for that purpose.
Due to its unique status, scientific relevance, and classification potential, price is available upon request. Please contact us to discuss acquisition.
