Lov 263 – Pallasite
This complete 120 g slice, measuring 175 × 80 mm with a thickness of approximately 2.5 mm, represents one of the finest specimens recovered from the Lov 263 find in the Atacama Desert. Mounted on a display stand, it offers a clear and balanced view of the internal structure of this highly distinctive pallasite.

Unlike classical pallasites, Lov 263 is characterized by an unusual metallic matrix, whose texture and organization differ markedly from those typically observed within this meteorite group. The silicate assemblage consists of a rare combination of olivine and pyroxene, appearing as translucent crystalline areas with golden to greenish hues, lending the slice a refined and visually striking appearance.

This original mineralogical association, combined with the fact that Lov 263 is an ungrouped pallasite, gives this specimen genuine scientific significance while also reinforcing its rarity. The precision of the cut and the preservation of the slice in its entirety further enhance its appeal for advanced private collections, museum displays, or institutional acquisitions.

At the intersection of planetary science and natural aesthetics, this Lov 263 slice illustrates the still largely unexplored diversity of pallasites and highlights the exceptional quality of meteorite discoveries made in extreme desert environments.
