Jiddat al Harasis 479 19o 47.139’ N 55o 51.21’ E

This martian meteorite, a basaltic shergottite, was found in the desert of Oman in December 2008. This meteorite from Mars is an oriented individual greenish-gray stone weighing 553 g partially covered with well preserved black fusion crust.
Petrography (Ivanova M.A., Lorenz C.A., Vernad) : The meteorite is coarse-grained rock of subophitic texture.
